FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT THE MATERIALS
What sizes are available?
- Plate (up to 120mm thick)
- Rush / Round bar (up to 400mm diameter)
- Tube
- Sheet
- Film
In addition, we market rigid heat-insulating materials such as reinforced cements, calcium silicates, as well as flexible materials for industrial insulation in fabric or protective sheathing.
Do you provide a subject certificate?
Yes, certificates according to EN 10204: from batch number (certificate 2.1) to laboratory test results (certificates 2.2, 3.1, 3.2) are provided upon customer request.
Is it possible to cut materials to size?
Yes, we cut your dimensions. We cut all plastic and composite materials, with a level of cutting precision adapted to the customer’s needs.
Tailor-made cutting of all supports:
- Plate (up to 120mm thick)
- Rush / Round bar (up to 400mm diameter)
- Tube
In addition, we also grind plastic rods (diameter from 3 to 80mm), with a standard tolerance of h10 (tighter tolerances and specific surface finishes are possible on request), as well as planing of plates (thickness and flatness on request).
Do you machine materials other than plastic?
Yes, all composite materials, brass, aluminum and copper.
The transformation of plastic materials represents 50% of our activity. The other half applies to composite materials where we are the leader on the French market. A small part, which is tending to evolve, remains the machining of non-ferrous materials such as copper, aluminium or brass.
Our in-depth knowledge of plastic materials, composites and non-ferrous metals allows us to propose real alternatives for product improvements: weight reduction, dielectric insulation, mechanical strength, fire resistance, heat and chemical resistance.
ABOUT THE QUALITY
Do you have certifications?
Yes, we are ISO 9001 and EN 9100 certified. A CSR certification is in progress.
The ISO 9001 certification is a standard guaranteeing 240 strict requirements of our quality management.
It ensures to our customers the good mastery of all our processes with the only objective to serve the customer according to his constraints of cost, quality and delay.
All our entities are ISO 9001 certified. EN 9100 certification is a European standard with 400 strict requirements, specifically for the aeronautics, space, defense and armament sectors. It guarantees our quality and reflects our expertise.
ICMINDUSTRIE thus integrates the international database OASIS which lists aeronautics suppliers from all over the world.
Our high-performance production sites, NIORT and PARIS, are certified.
Do you guarantee the traceability of materials?
Yes, all of our stored and machined materials are traced throughout the supply chain: product origin, destination, composition, manufacturer and distribution. Our stocks are organized by the management of batch numbers.
In addition, we make available a number of accreditations and certifications:
- Certificate of conformity order according to the NFL-0015 standard
- Certificate of material conformity according to EN 10204: from the number (certificate 2.1) to the laboratory test result, chargeable according to the requested level (certificates 2.2, 3.1, 3.2)
- Material approvals: REACH (non-hazardous materials for free marketing in the EU), ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in EEE), ESA and NASA (standard for the aerospace sector), flammability (UL94, EN45545), food contact (FDA, 1935/2004/EC, 2002/72/EC), biocompatibility (USP Class VI)
Who will process my request?
For the purchase of materials, a sedentary sales representative will be dedicated to you. His role is to centralize your requests, to guide you, to carry out your estimates, to record your orders and to keep you informed of the progress of your order.
For the realization of a part or sub-assembly, a technical-salesman will be dedicated to accompany you in the different stages of the project, from the choice of materials, design, qualification to manufacturing.
At the same time, a dedicated sedentary sales representative will carry out your estimates, record your orders and keep you informed of the progress of your project.
Do you provide a production control report?
Yes, we can provide a dimensional inspection report for all of our machined products, cut or ground materials. This must be requested and validated during the elaboration of the quotation.
This report includes :
- A complete control first item (ISP)
- Provision of our audit report
All traceability and control data can be kept between 10 and 20 years depending on the criticality of our customer’s sector of activity.
My product is defective?
You can return it to us.
In the event of product non-conformity, inform your sales contact who will put you in touch with our quality department. For this purpose, a non-conformity report will have to be established and we commit ourselves to open a litigation file within 24 hours maximum.
Depending on the level of non-compliance, a report of remedial actions to be taken will be determined and sent to you.
ABOUT MY PROJECT
Can you help me realize my project?
Yes, we put at your disposal a team of technical sales representatives, methodical engineers and currency calculators to advise you and guide you towards the most suitable processes for the realization of your parts and the design of a coherent manufacturing range.
How do I choose my material?
Each material has its own technical data sheet where their main intrinsic properties of resistance, density, dielectric rigidity are listed. They also comply with the various standards in force (fire resistance, food suitability, etc.).
All of our technical sales representatives are experts in the field and will be able to guide you towards the solution adapted to your needs.
You can also download :
- The “choice guide” in which you will find the main materials with their characteristics -link-.
- The detailed technical data sheet of each material – Link-
Is my project confidential?
Yes, machining is the most efficient process for prototyping. Moreover, our team of experts will advise you and accompany you in its realization.
Is it possible to make a prototype?
Yes, machining is the most efficient process for prototyping. Moreover, our team of experts will advise you and accompany you in its realization.
Can you make a complete subassembly?
Yes, all our plants allocate strictly dedicated spaces for :
- Assembly, mounting, integration of inserts, kitting
- Painting, silkscreen printing, varnishing
- Polymerization in ovens
- Surface treatments: polishing, nickel plating, gold plating, silver plating, anodizing, etc.
We provide a ready-to-use part.
What part dimensions are you able to machine?
From millimeters to cubic meters. We machine from complex micro parts with a precision level of 1/100th of a millimetre to special profile parts with a length of 2000mm x width of 1000mm x thickness of 100mm.
Why use machining?
It is a very simple process to implement: short lead times, no tools, quick modifications.
Machining is used to produce parts with complex geometry and/or high precision.
The low cost (no injection molds) and short lead times make this process the best solution for the design of prototypes.
By the possibility to make quick modifications, and thus to carry out visual and functional tests, and to validate the characteristics of the restraint.
Are you able to produce large series?
Yes, our capacity for continuous machining allows us to produce large series.
Our Supply chain analyzes capacity/load on a weekly basis (Master Production Plan, dashboard) and manages machine queues on a daily basis (short interval meetings in the workshops, sequence, etc.).
We can also offer our customers remote stock management (batch management, FIFO).
